Bob Hooker, president of the Ohio State Beekeepers Association and past president of the Lorain County Beekeepers Association and the Heartland Beekeepers Association and pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Oberlin is our featured speaker. He will be delivering the Ohio Beekeepers "State of the Union" address, speaking about the interactions of Ohio State Beekeepers Assn with the local clubs, what is going on around the state, pending honey regulations, the state level inspection program, pesticide enforcement and other new events.

Tri-County Beekeepers' Meeting
This annual event is the largest gathering of beekeepers in the US. It's a great chance to come out and learn about beekeeping. The KeyNote Speaker will be Dewey Caron. There are workshops and sessions on a range of bee-related topics, a baked-goods and a mead contest and vendors galore.

Monthly Meeting - Double-Header
We have booked two very important beekeeping professionals for this meeting. First, Dewey Caron will be doing an advanced talk on spring management - increasing numbers of brood and adult bees, and detecting swarm preparations. Larry Connor will follow with making increases through packages, splits, increase essentials and a quick update on winter losses ie. how to tell if you have something serious, plus what to do with deadouts! which will be state-of-the-art!! This is a meeting you do not want to miss !!

Western Reserve Beekeepers Meeting
Western Reserve Beekeepers and MCBA will be pairing up to host an all-day meeting featuring honey bee products…creamed honey, gift baskets, cooking with honey, candle making, encaustic art, lotions and potions, and some more, plus an all day beeyard event at the same time…we should have something for everybody. More details as they unfold.

Preparation for the Fair. We will be doing a thorough clean-up of the booth, organize the sales and display areas, hang up posters and beekeeping information, etc. Pizza and soda will be served. Please bring cleaning products to the meeting - brooms, pails, paper towels, rags, etc.

Set-up
Set up your entries for the Medina County Fair and bring your honey and hive products for sale. All entries must be in on-time and in compliance with the Fair's rules. The building closes at 6:00 pm.

Medina County Fair
Buy and sell honey, candles and other bee products. Watch the bees in the Observation Hive. Extract honey from frames. Roll a candle. Learn about bees and beekeepers, their lives and equipment. Sample all the great honeys produced in our area. Taste the difference.
Then go to see the rest of the Fair.
