Going into winter, we had 5 colonies, consisting of two strong overwintered hives, one package, and two swarms. Both of the older colonies have already died, one from nosema and one undetermined. Put fondant on all three remaining hives last week, the girls were all over the top bars. This in spite of having left a lot of honey on going into winter.
